Prostate Cancer Research
Developing empathetic information and support for patients
The charity wanted to deepen its understanding of patient experiences at every stage of the patient journey, and to develop an online information service (Infopool) to empower people living with prostate cancer to make better-informed decisions about their treatment.
Versiti’s qualitative work with 44 people living with prostate cancer helped changed the culture of the whole organisation, increasing empathy, knowledge and confidence in engaging with cancer patients.
The work suggested patient-led improvements that helped secure £425,000 in Big Lottery funding to finalise the development of Infopool and take it to market. It’s also been instrumental in attracting significant funding ever since.
