Versiti works with organisations keen to develop more inclusive products, services, campaigns, programs and policies. Done well, this brings many rewards to clients, communities and wider society.

Our approach yields deep human and cultural insights into the lives, motivations and needs of seldom-heard groups. These inform the work of business leaders, policymakers, marketers, designers and innovators.

Beyond the here and now, we are attuned to the all-important ‘back story’: the historical, economic, cultural and social context that shapes today’s lived experiences.

We distill complexity and nuance into directional solutions based on each client’s purpose and commercial context.

We also aim to build clients’ capabilities around inclusive insight.

Methods and approaches

We use a broad array of methods. But we tend to privilege qualitative and ethnographic approaches - to explore and explain. This enables us to delve deeper into people’s lives and their ‘jobs to be done’. It yields more nuanced insights.

Where possible, we use participatory and co-creative approaches, empowering both participants and clients.

Here are some of the approaches we use.

Human Insight

Drawing on a rare combination of academic expertise and commercial research, Versiti has developed a powerful and cost-effective methodology that produces penetrating truths about underserved or seldom-heard people, their aspirations and motivations. This delivers more positive impacts, for individuals, communities and clients.

‘Nationwide’

A pioneering and innovative way to get deep insight from a small, highly diverse sample. We capture intersectional variations relevant to your specific challenge. This cost-effective approach gives you confidence that you are genuinely listening to a broad section of the right voices before making critical business decisions.

Workshops

Because each organisation is different, we work closely and collaboratively with clients, using workshops at critical points to map out the state of play, share insights and good practice, work through potential barriers, co-create solutions, prioritise ideas, and build consensus and buy-in. The result is more confident leaders, and better solutions.

Immersion Programmes

It is hard for senior executives to remain connected with their customers. It’s even harder to understand and relate to customers whose profile and life experiences are very different from one’s own. Versiti creates programmes to immerse leaders in the worlds of seldom-heard groups, triggering both insight and visceral empathy.

Social Return of Investment (SROI)

We all know that ‘what gets measured gets done’. Our approach to measuring Social Return on Investment (SROI) is both forecasting and evaluative. It helps ensure activities are designed for equity and value creation as well as financial returns. This evidence-based approach is key to building on ‘what works’ and avoiding what doesn’t.

Expert & Kindred Interviews

We curate a network of experts who provide technical knowledge and enrich clients with different perspectives. Where relevant, we also facilitate interviews with ‘kindred’ spirits: leaders who have faced similar challenges in different sectors, and can share their experience of successfully driving equitable change.

Masterclasses

Our Masterclasses accelerate learning, whether you want to learn more about the nature and causes of inequalities, intersectionality, good practice in engaging with specific minority groups, navigating the terminology or anything else. We summarise evidence in a user-friendly way and host fully-interactive sessions.
